I got an Impy and when I screw my tank in to the Horizontal Maxflo reg it leaks out of the threads. I asked my friend and he said I had to put in 2 orings 1 in the ASA right in back of the threads and one on the HPA tank. I dont have my reg right now but Does this sound similar to any problems you Impy Owners may Have?

What is the smart valve? does it go on the tank? the reg? the gasthru grip? what?

Im asking cuz Ive heard that smartparts makes a certain threaded style that is only for their HPA tanks and to not make other tanks leak you have to either put 2 orings in it or do something i dont know.

If anyone can help me out Id be much appreciative cuz i dont want to spend 400 bucks on a new hor reg.

Is this a 4.5k Max-Flo?

There should be an oring at the back of the threads, which seals the tank to the reg once it's screwed all the way in. On the Max-Flo the tank screws directly onto the reg, so there's no need for an additional valve on your bottle. You don't even need to loctite the bottle onto the reg, cos the pressure SHOULD hold it tight and leak-free!

It's a common problem with CO2 manifold Max-Flos - the pin in the ASA is too long. The 2 o-ring trick is a common fix for it, but you have to make sure that the tank valve is fully opened when it's screwed in.

The Smart Preset Valve has male tank threads on one end, female tank threads on the other end, and n on/off knob in the middle. It screws onto any preset tank with standard thread, and adds about an inch to the length. The benefit is that you are no longer dependant on that pin valve, so you can fully screw the tahnk in, and then turn it on with the on/off knob.
