Hello there, Had some great advice and feedback on this so i thought I would add a bit more to it. And tell you a bit more about where my idea came from. I was eventually thinking of finding some land to buy (Gulp!) and basically open up my own paintball site. Not sure if i wanna do a woodland one or a tournament arena but I have a feeling that either way it is gonna cost mega bucks and it would be a make or break within the first 3 months type of scenario. I had some silly fantasy about making my own indoor man made vietnam jungle. The reason I think it is a fantasy is because I saw a Tv program about some american farmer dude who actually did this. Using some of his 100 acre farmland. It took him about 10 years to build this indoor jungle

- complete with weather effects (Rain and wind),

- war sound effects (Speakers built into the trees with explosions and gunfire)

- Jungle sound effects, of what you would naturally hear if in a jungle

- Lighting effects (flashes imitating explosions, turning day into night)

- vietcong village, 5 foot deep river (with fish) and 40 foot waterfall

- U.S. and vietcong uniforms

also making landmines and tripwires with explosions just like what they do in the films where compressed air and debris is buried under the soil and blown up making a very realistic but safe explosion, where you could be standing right over the top of it. (Apparently his brother worked for dreamworks film studios in the special effects department so this helped.

I can't remember how much it cost him to build it all but he made it all back with opening it up to paintball and airsoft enthusiasts. He also lets the military and special forces use it for jungle warefare training and gets paid a lot by the government.

It was on the discovery channel about a year ago and it was this that got me into paintball to start with.

but this idea is way out there and would cost so much money and would have to be huge to be effective, But It would be best to keep it outside, but I would need to know how to get hold of over 100 markers, outfits and staff to build and run it. I need some advice on this because if i was to do this seriously then it could all fall apart if i go in blind.

Sounds expensive m8. I dont know how much land is, but for land, landscaping, reforming and all that other stuff, surely you have to be talking hundreds of thousands.

As for markers why not talk direct to the manufacterers, get some tipmann 98's in, maybe even discuss sponsorship.

If you were to seriously consider this you would have to have your head squarely on your shoulders, for cash you would have to win the lotto or seriously impress your bank manager, or investors.

These gats are almost indistructable !! I've seen punters drop them bury them in mud everything and they just carry on going !!! :)

yeah the tippmann 98s are like that too, and they have the added attraction of looking like a machine gun (with forhandle) which the punters will like :D. I certainly did.

Ah sounds like you will like the new Inferno that has just been released then

All the reliability of the old Inferno, but with a foregrip like the M98, if I was setting a site up in the UK at the moment that would probably be the marker I would pick, but you could save quite a bit of cash buy buying some secondhand Infernos, I believe some sites sell them off after a set period and they usually have many years of life left in them with a bit of TLC.
