Hold a potato in front of the barrel,thats how they do it in the films when they want a cheap silencer
ok ok i know how they do it in the movies, might as well shoot through a lump of grass if im going about it film style but i doubt a paintball marker would be ablet o pull that off. . . any serious ideas.

TBH they're not that noisy, until you put a flatline on them, then you'll spend more time cleaning broken paint from the barrel that it won't matter.
barrels with more porting are quieter.

Thing is, a tippy's sound profile doesn't come from the air pop that powers the ball, it's the clunking of the blowback internals. The only real way to combat that is to experiment with springs of differing tensions and polish everything I think. If that doesn't work, i'd wrap the whole thing in cloth if I were you

Gommie is the main person that comes to mind, he has done plenty of sound reduction projects and his silent ion is something to be seen because you certainly can't hear it!
