i know that this is going to sound like a stupid newbie q...

i´d like to get my hands on the most quiet barrel out there...

i know much sound depends on the gun...i`m shooting a LP sandridge...

why quiet...vell we are playing hide and seek right...(even speed-ball)

i`m thinking rekka or JJ...ceramic is really quiet right??

metal tends to resonate more than ceramic, so yes, to an extent.

some quiete barrels that i have seen are the boomstick and the scepter barrel systems.

You should go for barrels with a fair bit of porting - They are usually the most quiet - Gas hogs! - But quiet

Go for a long, ported barrel, eg. an 18 inch boomstick. Not sure if the material used would matter that much, but porting & length do have a significant effect.

In the new PGI there is a new barrel from Site Manufacturing called the St!ffi, its made of carbon fiber is dead light and they quote it as "impressively quite" their site is www.sitemfg.com no sure when its out price etc.....

32 degrees do a barrel called the "whisper", its dead quiet and cheap too but not sure of the quality, if you're looking for a cheap barrel thats impressively quiet, go for this.

32 degress also do a carbon barrel which is quite quiet and light
