Just came across this..... anyone know of it being used in uk???

The Alpha Therapy Interferential Stimulator Device can be used to directly enhance rate of finger muscle twitch and so increase maximum achievable rof It is a low frequency treatment that uses two medium frequency currents which "interfere" with each other to produce a beat frequency that the body recognizes as a low frequency energy source. The range is usually 1-250 Hz. The body produces frequency currents between 1-256 Hz. The major use of Interferential Stimulation is to override the brain / finger sensory pathway nerve stimulii. This is a dual channel unit, which allows you to use up to four electrodes at a time (two electrodes per channel). Therefore it is possible to stimulate both left and right hands during a game. A switcher device is built into the small control unit which is best tucked inside the front your pack so that at a touch of a button you can switch between left and right forefinger stimulation.

OMG!! what will they think of next????

hmmm, multi-use tool! can be used by players both on the field and off... maybe we should write to the makers and they can bump their price up accordingly... $229 did seem a bit cheap! thats plus shipping of course!

But seriously... isnt anyone bothered?? isnt this cheating??

It doesn't work, I know I've tried. I had a boring night at work and having access at no end of signal generators and and power supplies I bodged up set up like this.[inspired by those stupid slendertone things]. In order to get any sort of reaction in your finger the voltage becomes unbearable. Anyhow I swear theres a rule in the books which bans such devices if there isn't there soon will be

quoted from the s2k3 rules:

If you a caught using a marker in burst fire or fully automatic mode YOU and the marker will be excluded from the tournament and the team will play one short and receive 50 penalty points.

If a marshal suspects that you are using a marker that is not in a semi automatic mode he can "confiscate" the marker and any equipment he feels is being used incorrectly (i.e. gloves) and then give it to the tournament ultimate who can request the marker be dismantled and inspected.

See the bit saying any equipment being used incorrectly. grey area methinks

yeah... but technically one pull and release of the trigger = one ball is legal... so each finger twitch = one trigger pull...

DB honey... what rof did u get from Mike's Timmy last training?? i dont think u need one anyways ;)

I guess the better question is "Has anyone actually seen these in use?" Just keep in mind that interfeering with the body can, and may, have long term effects. Especially if you're using electrodes to make the muscles dance on demand.

Hey, more reason to go back to pump play, IMHO.

This looks like a lot of fun...
Anyway, the only way to see if it'll become big is to see what the pro's do with it - if they use it everyone will but if they don't, no one will.... Such is life *sighs*

I'v got a mag for sale by the way - 180 ono on air. PM me
