Is the shot count of a marker is a big deal when trying to sell it? Surely age of the marker is more of a deterrent?

Like buying a car, people used to worry about mileage, but general condition is more important.

The shot count can be reset, and won't know the difference between between dry fring, game play etc

I don't know about when trying to sell it, but for me the only time I would buy a new marker is if I really wanted it, and if I really wanted it shot count means nothing to me, however, as tommikka has pointed out, general condition does......

The shot count is important to me but not because a high shot count is bad. A high shot count is usually indicative of a well used, well broken in and reliable marker.

but as soon as you give it a full service, all that "broken in" malarky is as much use as the shot count itself

My SL74 has had 300K + shots easily. Still looks like new inside/out and still shoots like new.
A twelve month old marker could have 10K shots and have bags of problems due to not being looked after.
