I've tried and practiced shooting with both hands and although I've found a position that's comfortable my aim is all to cock. How do others deal with shooting on their off side, in my case I have a shocker that, although has little weight to it, gives me a stable platform to shoot from but I still couldn't hit a barn at 10 paces.

Tell you this, without boasting I'm bloody brilliant shooting with my left hand, fast accurate everything.

Trouble is I'm left handed and suck major league when shooting with my right hand....Zero and I mean Zero coordination.

I practiced for months and months shooting with the right hand but just couldn't get it sorted.

Then I put my warp on and all is well, I can cross over shooting with the left hand and as long as the revvy is at an angle that I can feed at ~45o or so it'll shoot all day crossed over the body.

Takes a bit of getting used to but it rocks:D ...despite what the guys in Planet keep telling me:(

Now I don't worry..happy days.

practise all the time
even get a lighter marker if need be

also when you walk around with your marker always carry it in your left hand(if your right handed) that way you get used to holding the weight then alls you have to do is work on speed and accuracy

Something that helps me is holding 10 lb weights while I run/do stairs, it helps me keep steady aim and keeps my arms in shape to post as long as I need to.

I also have my full setup (including hopper full of paint) sitting around and I just pick it up and practice form and shooting in different positions with both hands all the time while I'm sitting around the house.

advice...

As everyone says..."practice,practice,practice..."
on the field, off the field all time with or without marker keep it in the left hand just pretending to pull the trigger may help.stick with it because when it comes off it feels sweet.create some drills to practice with your left in game and just at targets.at the end of your training days or field days when everyone blasts off the paint left in their hopper, rapid fire left handed, use the paint aiming using your left hand rather than some wasted bravado at how fast you can fire with your right hand.theres lots you can do with your left hand to get your responsiveness, steadiness, accuracy and basic fine motor movements that you in your natural hand much improved.Perceverence will pay off with time...

Part of shooting with your off hand is not only learning how to hold the marker with the other hand but also un-training your body stance.

The reason being i watch alot of people who, when shooting right handed adopt a stance of left foot and shoulder forward and right shoulder back. When they shoot left handed this same people tend to keep the left foot forward and you can see them fighting there own body as it trys to get the wrong shoulder forward.

You also need to take into account that thouh people have two eyes, one eye is normally the dominant one. So when coming out on the right, right eye dominant people don't need to stick their head out too far to get a comfortable sight picture.

(who's right handed but shoots better with his left)

At our last practice session we played small timed games where you could only shoot with one hand for 15 seconds at a time before you had to swap to the other hand. Sounds really weird but it helps with being able to use your other hand and gets you used to swapping as quick as possible in case u ever need to.

Give it a try.:)

Just watch ya dont shoot yourself in the foot as you swap!
