Shockers... Good Guns?

As title says, fancy a change of killing machine, just wondered what shockers were like on maintenance, appearance, accuracy, consistency, reliability, any problems with chopping or any specific quirks.

Also wondered if there are any necessary upgrades that i would have to make to a stock vision.

So what are peoples opinions?

Shockers are great guns, had one myself till today and that is only because I am getting a another marker.

They are fairly easy to look after, remove the bolt and give that some shocker lube every now and then probably every few boxes. Then the same with the front reg.

Things like consistency are dependent on how much you look after it but they can be very consistent. Accuracy is dependent on paint and barrel as with most guns.

Upgrade wise one of the upgrade bolts is worth getting I had the Evolve on mine which was good but the Smart Parts HE bolt is also good. Then you have barrel kit, clamping feedneck. I would also recommend the Virtue board upgrade had it on mine and loved it. Some people like to change the trigger but I was happy with stock one.

The people who own them will tell you they're the best guns in the world (same could be said about any gun, from a Brass Eagle Talon on up). Low maintenence, fast, etc,. In reality, the bounce beam eyes aren't quite as effective as break beams, the spool valve design is extremely high maintenence (it's been described by some as a fancy way to destroy O-rings), not terribly efficient, and SP customer support sucks. Be prepared to spend a fair amount on Dow 33.
