Hey guys,
My NXT wont fire properly anymore after using it with A-Balls. Throughout the day the problem slowly developed by missing the first shots in a string to then completely not firing. It's similar to the dwell not being high enough to get a full shot, but the only thing that was altered during the day was the input pressure for velocity, now thats been cranked back up to somewhere around usual its still not firing. Ive tried messing with the dwell, resetting the board back to factory (Virtue OLED) and cranking up the pressure a little. Anyone got any ideas?? or know what pressures are safe to crank it up to to try and kick start it??

Any help is appreciated, cheers

next time you're at a chrono try this

Bolt Setup
Start at low dwell and pressure (~130).
Raise dwell until gun cycles and shoots
Raise pressure to fps
Drop dwell until gun does not cycle
add 1 point of dwell
Pressure to FPS

Never fails to give a perfect setup.

As for the initial problem, re-balls and a-balls require the lower velocity, unfortunately shockers don't like this so what you need to do is pack the inside of the firing can with some o-rings to lessen the volume, giving you the same input pressure even though you have lowered it to bring the velocity down.

Shockers like between 180-220psi with a dwell between 9 and 14 (depending on solenoid)although with a bit of work you can run much lower, i run 165psi with a dwell of around 10, i've seen some run at 140psi with a low dwell but that was crazy modded

cheers balf. I dont think i explained it properly though, i cant get a full shot at all. The bolt doesnt move at all and the gun just vents the air that would fire the shot.

try changing one of the following o-rings, rear bolt o-ring, rear inner firing can or rear outer firing can. New Battery and a clean and re-grease never hurts either.

I realised after posting that I hadn't really helped much but my brain didn't want to work much after that.
