Cocker, no question about it

Dude, Cockers are the only marker to go for.

Seriously though, try as many markers as possible before you buy. Some you'll love and others you wont. Then buy a cocker:D

Good Luck

pros n cons

I'm not going say accuracy cos there both accurate!

Shocker
Pros
Stable platform
Electro (depends if that floats your boat)
Consistant
Runs fine on CO2

Cons
Big, heavy n ugly (most people think anyway!)
Gas hog
Need about 1/2 a ton of lube to work!
Standard triggers are 'orrible!

Cocker
Pros
Readily available parts
Easy to get services and work on
Don't need batteries
Efficient on gas
Light-ish
Easy to maintain (as long as you don't mess with it!)

Cons
Ugly in standard form
Crap plastic standard trigger frame
Really need Air, can run on CO2 but just nots as good as the Shocker.
Longer trigger pulls
Upgrades can cost you more than the basic gun!
Some people just can't get used to the trigger and shortstroke lots.

But at the end of it all the best thing to do is to try n get a go with one and see what you prefer

After having trawled the internet looking for testimonials (Not having played a tourney yet, any Midlands teams looking?) myself and two mates have purchased second hand "Shockers" £350 to £450 is all you need spend for a respectable working rig.

Big (Yes, something to hug), Ugly (imposing) but well balanced until you stick a 1.1ltr bottle on.

The gun is simple to work on, on arrival one gun would not fire - against advice we stripped it to pieces and had it fixed within the hour (No worrying about the timing of the pneumatics).

Big down point of the "Cocker" is it must take ages to clean when you take a hit on the front.

As said above, you won't know until you try, we are all different!

Ahhhhh, a very opinionated question. Being a big ugly shocker owner I could go on about how I thought its the Gun of all Guns. Instead I will agree with those who said shoot 'em all till you find what you like. Its all a matter of opinion!
