Hi Lads,
Got an Hybrid Shocker NXT 2007, runs beautifully except for one thing! If I leave it for a while, 15 minutes i'd say, then i try to fire, i get first shot drop off, all the other shots fire perfectly and consistently though. I have changed the dwell and upped it to what I believe to be about right (slightly overset to compensate). Also cleaned the bolt to clear any debris and properly lubed it.

Under my fairly limited paintball knowledge I believe this to be due to the board not having abs? (anti-bolt stick) Am I right in believing that this board doesn't have this? Would upgrading to a virtue board or blackheart solve this problem as I read they have settings to help eliminate this. Only hesitation I have about this is my markers fairly particular as it is one of a kind and has a few things slightly different from most shockers of the same sort so I didn't want to change the board if my one was already custom for my marker (one thing that leads me to presume this is because it chirps which i didn't think most stock shocker boards did).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Jake.

does it really bother you? Most, if not all shockers (and most spool markers) have this issue.

It'll have a Blackheart board, which is supposed to beep. Not sure if it has a FSDO setting, cba to look :p. Simply, if it shoots fine after the first clearing shot. leave it be :)

i'd love to but i like things to be perfect and even that one shot winds me up a little.. just when youv got everything else running sweet its nice to know that theres no problems with anything at all!

i know its not a blackheart cos iv got one on my ion and it configures with all the standard modes of the stock nxt board just it has a chirp. i do believe the blackheart has fsdo im just wondering if anyone can put there finger on what board it is that i have exactly and whether the standard nxt boards do fit these characteristics..

anyone had a play with the virtue or blackheart boards on an nxt? wondering whether its worth the money to upgrade?

Hybrid NXT's comes with the stock Nerve board. Some retailers sold NXT's with the Blackheart board already upgraded.

The only adjustable settings on the Nerve NXT board are dwell, recharge, firing mode, and eye sense.

My money is on stock board. That I know of other than team boards there is only one totally customn board, I know where it is, I know who's it is and I guarantee it hasn't had full code put on it yet.

Anyway, technically the problem is solenoid related, or bolt, or anywhere else air flows for that matter, as J@mes said it's an issue with spool valve guns, the easiest fix is to upgrade the board, Blackheart, Tadao, Predator, Virtue, Hyperdrive, NOX Unleashed(not sure if it has BB eye compatability), APE Rampage, etc etc, only thing I reccomend is leave the blackheart out of your gat.

I've had use of all the boards I've just listed apart from te NOX (very hard to get over here) and the Hyperdrive (it should be in the post as we speak :D:D), who ever you ask will depend whta they have oin their gats, I know people who swear by virtue, people who swear by tadao, and so on.I've only ever had complaints about the blackheart though.

thanks for the advice, very useful indeed...

as you seem to be the least biased considering you have tested all the boards, which would you recommend?

Jake.

My perspective on the boards out there, Predator, who I dont believe are around anymore, there 10.0 code was good, blackheart is fine, but nothing special, APE board is probably the most difficult board to understand, i spent hours setting one up, but once it was done it shot very well, NOX i think are limited in number and hard to find, the Hater board i had for a couple months, its good, lots of modes, though the code they released at first wasnt 100%, they fixed it and works fine now, though very expencive again, the seventh element board i havnt used, supposed to be good, but they dont ship to the UK, so might be a problem getting hold of one. The big 3, Virtue, Tadao and Hyperdrive, it depends what you like, Virtue has the new redefined software which is good, tadao i think has just released the 7.0 code for there boards, but not on there site yet for some reason, so the 6.1 code, which isnt that great for the eye logic is all you have, Hyperdrive is new, all new rules compliant, and bets IMO, Virtue is a little more money, though anyone who has Virtue will probably not willingly use another software.
