Personaly (but what do I know, Not very much)

I say Impulse just cause I have one.
(although I used a shocker the other week and they are both sweet,)

What position do you play. I found that the shocker was great at the back, accurate, quick but when i broke up front it was big and heavy but I was not used to it.

My Impulse I can use left handed and could have done some better moves than was done with the shocker.

The Impulse has the advantage of being able to pull out the bolt easily on the field if you need a good clean out I don't know how much work goes into the shocker but from what I could see it was quite hard to do.

Hope this helps

I'd say an Impulse

Couple of advantages -
Firstly, you can get a Vision Impulse, so no more ball chopping:)
Secondly, the Impulse is lighter which has to be an advantage wherever you play. Oh yes, & the Impulse takes standard 9v batteries rather than the special Smart Parts battery packs the Shockers use.

Shocker all the way

I'd go for the shocker. Yes it may be a beast to lug around on the field but anyone who says its too heavy should experiment with some free weights. Anyways the impulse is taller than a shocker and for that reason is much more topheavy. All of the shockers weight is centered around your hand so it does actually balance very well. And as a plus it shoots really far really accurately do to the closed bolt design. They never chop paint, and they can shoot very brittle paint very well. You will have to get that 18 inch broomhandle of a barrel of if you plan to run without tripping over it.

Either

Both are excellent markers and both shoot accurate and fast. It comes down to how much $$$ you want to spend. Shockers are a bit more expensive. So I would say Impulse b/c they are cheaper in price and just as good.

why not forget those pieces of scrap and spend your wedge on a custom cocker, maybe the dye 2002 model sweeeeettttttttttttt!!!
They are small, light beautifully crafted and not everybody has one. Take a look page 97 of the latest PGI ( feb 02 ).
