shocker help

my bro just bought a shocker but is off on holiday so i said ill put some paint through it for him, prob is, aired it up, set the reg to about 400psi turned the air on and it sounds like its leaking from inside the gun just above the gas thru grip. the gun fires fine but is leaking, is the presure too high? maybe too low? or anyone know the reason for the leakage?

any help would be good as i know nothing about shockers

reason i asked was anything above 280 psi in the gun would fry the old shocker

I have put 280psi through an old shocker... and it didnt like it... it still fires tho But then again I think the maxy started overriding at leaking at about 250 so maybe i'm wrong...
