shocker bolt anno

Anyone have any experience or hear anything about annodizing the firing can and bolt guide for a shocker? Want to know if it will ruin the tolerances and make it leak.

Apparently the firing can can be anno'd, though I'm not sure I'd trust it. Can't see why the bolt-guide can't be. Why not just buy new parts? Probably cheaper

should be ok, but might make the fireing can even tighter fit (or looser, not sure which)

Well I have a spare bolt guide, so I was planning on giving it a whirl. Could only find coloured parts stateside, and figured I could get an entire set of stock parts (eye cover, guide, can and some other bits) done black at sloth for £30, which would be cheaper than buying a whole new set of parts.

If you get the parts masked off so that only the visible areas are re-anodised, then it won't be a problem.
