funny noise with shocker

Hi, my brother used his shocker for the first time ( hpa 3000psi ) wow !! ( all we have ever used were infernos)but on the third game, he started to fire and air began to leak making a loud moaning noise abit like an elephant seal !!
It now seems to be working fine, can anybody tell me what happened. thanks.

Also I have just bought a shocker too, its set for co2, if a I run a remote with an expansion chamber and fitted a filter, would this help keep my marker in a better condition.. or should I swap over to air?( I have a govnair system 3000psi ) thanks again

Hi Dude

where was the air leaking from on the shocker, it may have been that the air was running low as shockers are serious gas hogs (400 shots of 1.1 3000psi air approx).

you can run the shocker fine on Co2, if your running remote you will need an expansion chamber to stop liquid entering your gun. You will get approx 900 shots from a 20oz and 1000 odd from a 1.1

cheers

thanks Bruce, I asked but he all he could tell me was that it came from the bottom where the reg is located ( not a vert mounted ).

Do you think swtiching over to co2 is a bad move, considering he's just a rec player, dosen`t really fire long bursts, it seems easier, less weight, more shots per fill. Wouldn't Co2 damage the solenoids.

sorry bruce just more question, but would I have to bother with a expansion chamber if I didn`t run a remote.
thanks again for your help, Alan

The Black O ring inside the maxflo is damaged (looks like a bottle o ring)...a filter is the way forward wether or not you have CO2 or Air and you get more shots (just) on CO2 rather than Air, yes there is the weight issue but then you have chosen to run a Shocker so a couple of extra pounds shouldn't be a worry.

I definatley recommend air for the Shocker as it requires less cleaning and doesn't have the freezing problems with co2 and makes it even quieter, in fact almost totally silent. Expansion chamber is unnecessary with remote. The hose itself acts as as such, and in my opinion is much better. Shot count with air isn't quite so much an issue with rec play, and if you get a decent sized bottle and maybe switch to a more efficient barrel then it's not a problem at all.

thanks for the help and advice. I'll download details from shockerworld on how to strip the maxflo now and we'll have ago at doing the repair ( if needed) ourselves.
As for my shocker, I'll see what its like on co2 before changing over, thanks again
