Okay im trying to ship my matrix to the states and im currently searching for the cheapest shipping quotes.

So far i have been quoted 85quid by both FEDEX and UPS and Royal mail only deal with small packages.

How come both smartparts and Planet can ship markers to the states for 40quid?

Can anyone recommend a reasonable priced shipping services?

Plus how many Kgs is 3.5 Lbs:confused:

Please Help

Well 3.5lb is 1.59kgs ;)

I think they've miss quoted you as I know for a fact overnight shipping to the US for 1.5kg with Parcel Force is £40.10, thats Datapost. If you not bothered about overnight then its £23 for 5-8 days Standard. I know this as my Viking has just gone to AKA for some work ;) :D and I sent it Parcel Force.

Fedex is normally around the £45 mark so i'm suprised that they quoted £85. Doesn't suprise me with UPS over here they are a complete rip off . . . if its picked up by UPS in the US its cheaper!!

Also a word of warning. . . Fedex will ship paintball 'guns' to the US but not back and UPS do the opposite!!!!!

Steve

:Edit: Follow the link to Fedex rates as you'll see for Zone A in the States (most of it) for up to 2kg it'll cost £46.50 (Overnight)
Just choose the destination Country

Yep your right about parcel force i think the most they charge is 44 quid for a 1.6Kg parcel.

23 quid for standard sounds good to me is that signed for at the other end?

No need for return post its off to its new home.

Did you take the parcel in to your local post office and how did you explain that the parcel contained a marker and that it was private property and the person on the other end shouldnt be charged any import tax?

Thanks for your help

cheers

Yep that is signed for.

Well I always just say 'paintball equipment' as when you say marker they ask whats that. . .then you end up saying gun and depending on the person behind the counter they can say no . . .even though there is a Taric Import code and no restrictions apply (in other words there just akward tossers!)

Easiest thing to do is just label it as Warranty Returns ;) As of course you are a gun tech who has done some work to there marker and returning it to the rightful owner!! ;) :D

Oh yeah also for a couple of quid more you can up the insurance on the parcel just in case!

Hiya ,

Mark the package as a gift and then the person at the other end will not be charged.

That ain't necessarily so. . . .since you are all countries have and excess import duty, so depending on the value on the box will depend if they pay anything. I think you allowed a 'gift' of upto £250 if I remember rightly.

steve :)
