Well after just arriving in the door following 7hrs travelling I thought I'd stick up a couple of thank you's.
Firstly to everyone at Severe Belgium / Team Severe for organising the event. The morning saw a few panicky faces (mine for one) when it came to light that the Compressor was not happy about a 7am Sunday morning start and left us all airless. With much calm organisation (and the best behaved players I have ever seen in such a situation) a plethora of Dive bottles appeared, and work began on getting the games under way - all be it some 3 hours late.
Teams had travelled from all over Europe and had flights / ferries to catch so the pressure was on. The first game was about 12:00, all the mornings schedule was played by 14:30, about 30 mins for lunch and the afternoon sessions, and prize giving had wrapped up before 18:00. I think a huge congratulations to both the organisers and teams/players is well deserved as everyone pulled together. Even little things like chosing ends for the most part was decided between the two captains before they even entered the fields to speed the change over up.
The quality of play in Div1 was absolutely superb, congrats to the Kelly's for the 1st place well deserved guys. Thanks to Impact UK for the beer session on Saturday night (I think we were stooped with the old water trick ) and lastly thanks to Steve Bull for lending us his son David as spare player after our man Simon realised he had forgotton his passport when we were checking on to the ferry at Dover (no mate you will never live it down!)
PS: Jay - where was Europes Fun Police rep???
