This is more a question if anything.
I have been in the UK for about 3 years now. I have played a lot the different leagues the UK has to offer. But I was wondering......
I know that in the states companies that sponsor sports, leagues, events etc. is a tax writeoff as donations. From what I understand this holds up the local series to not offer the kind of tourneys that offer the prizes etc. (I guess companies dont get the kind of breaks here.)
Is there, or has there ever been talk of creating one super series (like the NPPL) here in the UK? Why not get all the local companies like LPS, WDP, Planet Eclipse just to name a few, and create and sponsor a "super series"?

Please post your thoughts.

in my opinion it will work in theory, but then you will get rivakl companies from the US just trying to beat the Uk and bringing out their own version over here in the uk.
which in one case may not b so bad as then there will be much better as they seem to know how to do it so well. but then what would b the point in the uk companies trying to create a super league is they will just get shot down streaight away by the super league of america.
i have thought about this for about 3 - 4 mins and have come to no conclusion at all:(

'Politics' basically is a byword for people f****** each other over, lying, not telling the whole truth, doing stuff with hidden reasons eg: ramping

'Politics' is a negative explanation of any paintball problem, any argument, any tournament shortfall

sometimes describes arguments between teams but can also be used to describe big massive NPPL Millenium sized arguments

It would need all current tourny organisers to band together and run one series of events all around the country. With the same rules and set up.

Great idea, But it would not work, cause they all run "different" tournys and have different ideas on how their own events work.

The other thing you need to remember is money!!! If you only have one event a month, but increase the number of people who get a share, it means everyone gets less........

possibly, but if you only had one recognised tourney series in the UK then all the teams would have to play it and thus you'd have a lot of teams which might make up the losses you'd get (doubt it but in theory...)

politics suck - dont try to understand them, dont try to get involved. it will only make you cynical. trust me ive been there.

True Mario :)

If you had only the one series, youd have to run it quite often

might work, but you'd always have some teams who don't agree with the game/scoring/field format of the one series, maybe its best just to have a variety?

but maybe less than there are at the moment?
but yeah the point still stands that we have several tourneys competing for players on the same weekend. Maybe some of the smaller tourneys should merge?

question is how do you class a smaller tourney? :) in the UK :D

itll never happen :) everyone enjoys their own money too much :) and fair do's to them - they've worked mostly hard to get it, it sure as hell aint easy organising a series.
