Series 2003 opinions.

Si.

Old Git.
This is mainly aimed at people who play Bullies 2k3 series, although I'd be interested in every one elses opinions.

The latest leg at Ancaster is 7 man and there seem to be a LOT of teams with players short and finding it difficult to make 7 man events.

With events like MM being all 5 man, do people think that 5 man is just as good as 7 man, but without the hassle of finding 2 additional players?

OR.

Do people really like 7 man events and would prefer them all to be like that.

OR

is the mix of 5 and 7 man events a good idea?

The reason I ask if I'm wondering how many is an ideas squad size? too many players and people miss out on the 5 man events because of over subscription. Too few players, and teams striggle to make 7 man events.

One for Bully, are these events going to continue in their current "mixed" format, or do you have any plans on formalising the event sizes?

(Bully, I'm not trying to change things, just trying to decide on a squad size.. for 2k4..)

7 man is the way it's going. if people aren't willing in this country to go that route then we won't be big 'playas' in terms of paintball.

i personally think that next year will be interesting in terms of teams folding and also joining together.

watchout 7 man is the place where it's at.....

Series 2004

Si and all SK3 teams - the dates for Series 2004 are on the web

http://www.tournamentpaintball.co.uk/series2004.htm

As you can see we have dropped the 6 man events and most will be open (i.e. not limited paint) there are more 7 man events

This is in keeping with other UKPL organisers and what teams have requested - So in answer to your question 7 man will be the main format so you all need to increase your team membership.

I appreciate some teams will fall by the way side or be swallowed by other teams and number of teams at events will reduce in the short term but it is a long term plan that the UKPL are trying to formulate.

See you all at weekend

Midlands Masters are looking to run concurrent 5 and 7 man leagues in 2004 as opposed to the mixed format envisaged by Series 2K4. Both have there pros and cons, but to be honest to run a 5 man team effectively, i'd have thought you needed 7 to 8 players anyway

Doh, we can only just communitacte as a 5 man... guess we had better try harder.

Thats right, we have 10 in our team and 4 can't make it so we are a man down.

There is now an opportunity for the paintball organisers, paint vendors to increase revenues due to the higher volumes of players. I hope this in turn will allow for "eventually" drops in the costs of eqiupment.

I am just glad to be playing, keep up the good work.
