To confirm a couple of details.

Everyone wants to play this last event, originally (and this is no reflection on 6E) I thought we would get 24 teams as it is a distance to travel (Personally I think all teams should travel "up North" as the NE teams travel South and never complain)

We are now on 47 teams YES 47 but even with the Manchester Marshals, Showtime and Keltic Warriors will not have 25+ marshals. Therefore by using the marshals as ultimates (2 per field) the event will be self marshal. The diffence being B div will marshal A div as top 10 trophies are at stake.:)

I am sure there are a lot who do not agree - this is why I am posting now so that teams who wish to "back out" have a week to inform me. I hope no one does.

Other info

The H-pac will be on site with unlimited fills on the Sunday, this will be included in your game fee instead of reducing the fee due to self marshalling fees. I am sure most players want this option.

Yes as posted the H-pac boys will NOT fill DOT bottles and out of date bottles. They are 100% correct. DOT bottles should not be used in the UK by resident players you have been warned so many times I am surprised that anyone in the UK buys a DOT air system as commercial fillers are not allowed to fill DOT or out of date bottles. (This applies to Series 2002 events and Midlands Masters as we both use H-pac)

One place left at Witton Castle hurry up John

I hope this info helps.

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
Can anyone confirm that my take on the sel marshalling is correct...

Every couple of rounds, rather than having a game, you marshal, andthis is scheduled, rather than, say, you just marshal when you aren't playing or fixing your marker.

Cheers, and see you all at the castle :D

if i remember rightly back to may...

at some point in your game schedule you will be rostered in to marshall a field for approx 3 games... this is extra to the 9 or so games you have to play.....

Self Marshalling

Basically on any rota there are usually byes. On the Self marshal format using 8 teams you get 2 byes in a day. On one bye you will sit and each bacon butties or burgers on the other bye you will marshal for 3/4 games. Most teams will only have to do 3/4 games one team will have to do 6 (if I remember correctly)

There are 1 or 2 Ultimates on each field who start and score the games, all the marshals have to do is "Call it as they see it". The system works

This event will see the B division marshalling the A division all the other divisions will marshal themselves. This is because there are series trophies at stake in A division and I want to minimise the risk of marshals cheating from any A divison team. (99% of players will call it as they see it but if the 50/50 decision could possibly cost a team a series trophy the 1% will come into action:( it is sad but a sign of the times)

I hope this has clarified the point

Jersey Warriors are playing so will have to do a marshalling stint

Just an idea but to make sure there isnt a marshal shortage next year at any of the 2003 series events would it be viable that you nominate teams from each division or certain teams that have marshalling experience ,marshal a certain leg. Now what would be the insentive to marshal? Well each team that provided they supply a full compliment of marshals they recieve team points for the series say the same amount of points as a team would get for winning their division. This would put a stop to the shortages of marshals and with the series getting more and more popular then it could then be able to expand even further!

Anyway just a thought :D
