no you wont have to fill in masses of form, just a customs slip (small green sticker they attach to the parcel) which states what is in the package, mark the slip as a gift. As this will help it slip through the other side.
Ask the guy from the states to do the same (mark as gift, repaired item or product sample) as this should allow it to slip through customs unnoticed
, also make sure he leaves nothing in the package stating the actual price. That way if they do examine it they have nothing to base there calculations on.
when sending take the insurance as this will protect you if it goes astray, also look into sending it recorded so you get a signature once it reaches the other end.
