Halfblock cockers are all the rage- or at least they would be if they weren't the exclusive province of hermit- like machinists who only make one every three months, while taking orders from many many players and then have nervous breakdowns by the dozen on internet forums when customers start to get irrate. Ask Paul from Tsunami some time about it. He threaded the needle. And that particular hermit ain't the worst of the lot.

On the one hand, I am pleased to see that a company capable of keeping up with demand has stepped up to supply a clear demand- on the other, it makes my Fastback cockers that much less unusual. This might be the smartest thing WGP has done in a while. I can't belive Planet didn't do it first- oh, wait, they had a mildly successful little Timmy-style marker that might have kept 'em busy.

PS nice sig, lettucecheesecake.

"Be interesting to see where the pump arm is etc"

The pump arm is on the left side of the body. There is a cut away to connect to theback block.

I love turtle cockers. I never understood while all cockers arent made that way.

i know that but i looks like it cocks internally, more like an excalibur - unless there is a groove in the left hand side of the body for it to attach to a hammer etc, turtles still have a sorta back block on top of the gun, that looks like 1 solid body

No. Here's how it works:

The pump arm rod attaches to the ram like normal. However, instead of running back to the back, and screwing into a back block, it runs 3/4 of the way back, and screws into a little sled thingy. The sled rides in a groove in the side of the body. A captive pin goes through the bolt, through the sled, and then through a groove cut in the receiver body between the top bore and the bottom bore. The hammer has no cocking rod threaded into the back, but instead has a goove milled into it so that the bolt pin catches it on the way back, and can slip out the front when the bolt comes forward.

It isn't, though, really. Instead of a sleeve around the bolt or a sled riding open on the back, the sled slips into a slot cut through the side. The mechanism works almost exactly the same. It is most like the PBX Cocker, which also retains a lot of the material from the top receiver bore in its halfblock. The idea with PBX is to make sure the bolt is very stable without using a lot of material to link it with the pump arm rod.

edit: here's a clearer picture:

Why do you suppose that they use an austrolopithecus skull in the ad?
