i've recently got some scuba tanks and was wondering if i could fill them at my local field or wold i have to take it to a scuba shop??

Are they in test? does your local field have a compressor and suitable equipment to fill them? Have you asked your local field?
If its a NO or a not sure to any of the above then take them to a dive shop to get filled.
