I'm looking to get a scuba tank or dual tank set up to fill my bottle when I'm practicing at home or on my land.

I'm looking to buy new and have a few dive shops locally living in portsmouth.

What do I ask for? What sizes? I really know nothing about these.

Any help or links would be great.

Cheers
Shawn

Unless you're UK's strongest person, a 12 litre cylinder is about the largest which is manageable to move between garage, car & dive shop for a refill.
Cylinders are pressure-rated in bar; 232 or 300 are common ( a 300-bar cylinder will give more air than a 232-bar but after filling, a 300-bar fill
will settle at about 280-bar). You'll need a fill rig/fill station to connect paintball bottle to dive cylinder, recommend a DIN-fitting connector rated to 300-bar.
Buy a boot for the dive cylinder so that it stands up.
Cylinder, boot & connector come in at about £290 new.
The dive cylinder will need a check every 2 1/2 years, £35 +

That's great info. Is the din fitting available from a dive shop or is it paintball specific?

My 232bar 15L and 300bar 12L tanks got lots of use years ago.

Most fields have air to at least 3000psi so I just need them for testing markers at home nowadays

Don't forget these will still need hydrotesting every few years

I don't think there's a huge market for it, but if you happen to investigate buying second hand, 12L 230 Bar (approx. 3000psi in paintball terms) is the most common size tank used for diving. Obviously the higher volume and pressure tank you can get, the more air it will hold for you but it comes at a cost.

Now I wouldn't exactly call this manageable, but I once seen a reball session run entirely from a very large capacity (maybe around 30L) air storage tank. If you happen to be in the right place at the right time with somebody getting rid of one, so long as you and a mate don't mind a little heavy lifting that would certainly last you a long time!
