Just a quickie: can anyone tell me what the screw thread type is, for paintball fittings like macroline connectors or on braided steel CO2 hose?
The female thread on my Tippmann M98's valve is excessively tight and I'm looking to clean it up with a suitable tap.

Thanks for that, further research seems to confirm this. :)

Also, the same research tells me that an NPT thread is supposed to get tighter as it's assembled, all part of its sealing properties apparently, because it's taper-cut. So I'm probably worrying over nothing- but then that's not a rare occurrence.

1/8 BSP is the non taper UK version

The fittings are often tapered but the holes they screw into usually straight threads

Almost Gee Tee

BSP are 28tpi where as NPT is 27 tpi.. NPS is the non-taper version ;)

Close but no cigar

I new that american spec pipe threads don't fit BSP for some reason... now I know it's due to the pitch difference. Cheers Renie ;)
