Well, i can tell you that Overlord won Div 3 with Mayhem Marshals (i think) in second... But then they were the only results that really mattered.

Weren't they..?:D

Stan, Congratulations to Overlord in winning Division 3. I played for "The Purple Warriors" and I was just hoping that we haddn't come last as we felt like we got pretty creamed that day.

There was good sportsmanship from all the teams we played against and bar a few minor issues our team had an enjoyable day.

We'd played a couple of the Series 2002 tourneys up North and were improving with each game. For some reason the style of play down south seemed to be completly different.

Oh well, I guess we'll be studying the video fottage to see what went wrong.

Just out of interest, was anyone else using the site Blaze. If so did anyone have problems with it. All six of the boxes we were using seemed to be pretty useless, with breaks all over the place and hardly a single ball flying straight, not the sorts of problems I'd expect with decent brand of paint and a vision Impulse.

Cheers

Rob

In what way is the style different down south?

Thanks

paddeo, Our first impressions were that the teams we were playing against seemed to prefer to sit tight for a large majority of the game 5+ minutes, they also seemed to concentrate all the fire power on a single bunker until that player was down. Once you've broken one or two people in a 5 man team then the push was made.

This seemed to slow the games right down, and often ended in a draw. From a lot of the stuff we played up North, the games were quicker and the fields tighter so most games were over in 3 or so minutes with the teams pushing from the start, the games felt more agressive.

Although the change in style may have just been down to the size of the fields, they seemed more like 7-Man field than the smaller tighter 5-Man fields we'd played up North.

Good question about the divisions, I had thought it was down to experience, but speaking with the team I don't think we were asked about our level of experience.

Rob.

We noticed this yesterday too. We normally play the 7-man at temple so maybe this sort of play always happens at the 5-man tournies.

There was one team in particular (they beat us so insert sour grapes here) who would never move passed the back line until 3 eliminations were theirs. Fortunatley for them they were small enough to play tight all day long and let us make mistakes.

Yes, we should have been good enough to shoot them out of their holes so we have ourselves to blame but boy does it make for a boring, frustating game.

Thanks

Overlord won! Rah, rah, rah go guys go:) :) :)
Um, just noticed - Liz not available for Overlord as has Chicks committment, Overlord play without Liz, Chicks play with her. Overlord wins at Temple in their division, Chicks get 4th in their division at Kidderminster. Oh sh*t, looks like I may have to look for another southern team now :(

But seriously, well done guys. Told you the skills were there & it just all had to come together.
