Sand badgering in milleniums

is there ever going to be a move to stop this?

i can almost guarantee that at least 80% of the teams at CC should not be in novice, and it does kind of suck for the proper novices...almost like a waste of money.

it would be pretty easy to do. look at all countries events and scores/divisions, so for instance, all teams that play division 1/2 at dartford 7's and do well. ie not last in division 2, must play division 2 at milleniums or something...

Even when/if this team seeding is put in place what's to stop teams switching their rota and dumping a couple of their regular players in favour of a couple of 'ringers' (who aren't even team members) for want of a better word?
Actually, this is something that pi55es me off when i hear of it... The team's regular players are there training after training, playing their subs and attending team meetings. They book time off work for big events then are told ''no sorry, we're having a couple of guests play instead of you to boost our chances" The guests will of course benefit from the sponsorship, leaving the team's regular players out in the cold, but guess what, next run-of-the-mill domestic tourney they'll be asked to play again.

Now I'm not speaking about my team here, as it's team policy to always field an available Tsunami player before inviting a guest to play, regardless of their ability.

Incidentally, Tsunami have opted to play Div 2 this year after finishing 6th in Novice last year. Hope others are following suit?

The best thing is that DV3 is NOT novice, its Rookie.

So all those teams that label themselves Novice should be in Div2 anyway, never were intended to be Div3.

I always chuckle when teams say they "stepped up" to Div 2 from Novice and give themselves a pat on the back, you should be there anyway!

Brits are the worst at it, I don't think we go in for the whole challenge yourself attitude, more the "I'll mooch about playing the lowest teams here thanks all the same".

Well Team Zone will be Div 2 this year , we along with the other teams that have gone to div 2 are those with pride. even if we get spanked at least we wil not be called sandbaggers. So see you there Tsunami. Good luck to all Div teams. All the best to all the british teams in every division.
