Safety: Do other paintball sites operate without barrel bags?

I have never seen a paintball park in America that didn't use barrel plugs or barrel bags and keep a chronograph out for checking markers. I have yet to see a paintball park here in Sweden that does so (except for the one I ran here some years ago). I know there are other parks outside of Stockholm that do run safe operations, but not here in Stockholm.

Whaddup with that?

How is it in the UK and in other places in the world?

Am I anal or whuut? Isn't the above safety standards the minimum? (Rhetorical. I know the answer.)

I think it's scandalous!

Please give feedback.

Every site ive ever been to here has strict rules with safety, every site has used Barrel Plugs, does not allow guns in areas where people can take their masks off etc.
Needless to say loads of netting was used too.

I do mean rec-ball/rental groups. Do the personnel carry unbagged/unplugged markers from field to field? Are chronographs available for walk-on, team-practice and rental customers?

Thanks for your reply.

most sites enforce no mask lifting when out of the "safe" area Chrono's do get used but generally with own gun users who are also required to use bungs/bags most sites also use bungs for rentals as well (this is based on my personel experiance and I have been balling in the UK since I was 16) (and I am now 31:( )
I have heard of sites were safety is a bad word and I wouldn't touch 'em with a 10 foot barge pole. One I heard of the marshalls carried personal defence batons (the steel extendable ones) why? god alone knows (muppets) another site the marshalls wore motorcycle helmets with the visors down. (dunno about you but old bike lids make great targets and at 290fps a paintball goes right through 'em) but muppets (like German tourists:D ) are everywhere.

Personnel : only at the first site I ever played where (having now thought about it and correcting my first post) there were no bungs or bags used at all. They just told you not to fire your guns until the games started.

Chronos for rental customers: The first time ive ever seen a chrono was this year at campaign (Newbie alert I know! :)) I presume the sites must chrono their own guns b4 you get there.

So UK paintball is not as consistently safety conscious as I thought. And I haven't been all over in the US. Maybe paintball in America is safer (I think) because of insurance regulations. And insurance is required because we sue each other so much there. Safety: a positive benefit of a litigious society.

(John Molloy: do you know the answer to my question?)

I would have to add to what I said a min ago, when I went to that site (the non-plug using one) it was about 5 years ago and was a very... shal I say... Small time, Low Budget operation. as there were virtually no facilities on site.

So I wouldn't take this as any kind of widespread indication on Safety Precautions in the UK. Far from it IMO.
