Fellow paintballers after 4 hours on the phone and speaking to the director in person i asked for email to confirm what was said so i can post it to the rest of you. Refunds will be given i would call them and get them back....have a good day and sorry to be the bearer of bad news. They have stated that if any is found they will confiscate them....no exceptions.

Dear Ralph

I apologise if you got mixed messages from us regarding this issue. At the time of your original booking and according to the notes in the booking Ryanair advised that we could not guarantee carriage of paintball markers. I can confirm that we cannot carry markers in anyform. Many airlines have made this decision and we are one of them. As a gesture of goodwill, if you wish, I will process a full refund on your booking.

Please confirm if you wish for me to process a full refund.

Regards

flight markers

i contacted the customer info desk on the 6th of jan after booking the flights and was informed by the operator at the time who checked with her supervisor that there was no probs taking markers on flights. I was asked if we were carriying paint but that was all. I also enquired with easy jet and their responce was similar and in both cases it was made clear that these things look like guns to the untrained eye.

will have to ring both in the morning

OHHH Sh!t

I think its a case of taking your hole marker apart ie.

Grip frame/Bottle/Air reg/ Barrels/Bolt/even internals hammer/valve.....so theres no way that it could be used on a flight/in thw wrong hands etc...

and yeah ohhhh !%*"£

Toy or replica guns (plastic or metal), catapults, cutlery, razor blades (both open bladed and safety razors), tradesmen’s tools which would have the potential to be used as a weapon, darts, scissors, hypodermic syringes (unless required for genuine medical reasons), knitting needles, large sporting bats and clubs, billiard, snooker or pool cues and any other sharp objects and weapons are not permitted in the cabin of Ryanair aircraft.

What about checked baggage in the hold?

From Easy Jets flight baggage policy doc

Firearms and explosives. Handguns, automatic weapons, munitions, ammunitions including blank cartridges, pistol caps, fireworks, flares, smoke canisters, and crackers. Note: As an exception,

sporting/competition firearms and a maximum of 5kgs of ammunition may be carried in hold luggage with appropriate paperwork, subject to available space, if declared at check-in and securely boxed or packaged.

Please note ammunition must be packed as part of passenger hold baggage and separated from firearms. (see note 1 above).

Maybe they mean no markers in Hand luggage? Which is fairly simple to see why anyways...I would think as long as your markers in bits and has no battery and no air then there should be no problem.

Also from the list above I don't really see anything that a Paintball Marker would come under, it says with "Paper work" I'm guessing thats for shot guns for those clay pigons etc......if not, what type of paper work are we talking about for markers?
