Rude behavior

Nope, not a thread about the rude behavior we see at many tournaments, rather a thread about forum etiquette.

A PM was forwarded to me by one of this forum's regulars, which he had received form another member, here's copy of it:

"Why do you feel the need to post your brainless, inane comments on p8 all day?

You're proper f*cking annoying.

Get a life you pr*ck.

If you're genuinely interested in paintball, go out and play/train some more instead of inflicting **** and misery on all the people who have to read your drivel all day.

What's wrong with this picture?
Yes, some people do post mindless drivel, but I feel if we start attacking eachother in this way, a line has been crossed. And I am not squemish about nuking the accounts of people who send abusive PM's such as this one.
Besides, if this is how you express yourself when you attempt to address the issue of posts that seem to bother you, you are not really that much better, are you?

So play nice, or the mods will come in swinging their enormous truncheons (ooh er)...

Can we guess the recipient?

I feel that those kinda comments are generated by the lack of response from the Mods to some of the point the person above "badly" put in that PM. Ok, its very aggressive and bad, however do you think there is an underlying issue pushing people to send PMs like that? Or even comment on threads?

Im not condoning it - but i actually agree with what he put, only in more of a gentle flowery way!

Am i missing something? Surely the point of a public forum is that everyone gets a chance to voice their Views/Opinions/Delusions/Questions etc. Ok maybe what someone says is annoying or pee's you off but, as long as they're not being deliberatly offensive or harmful really what is the problem? If someone annoys you yeah tell them they're being annoying. They will either take what you say on board, or continue to be annoying. In which case ignore them. Same as you would if you met someone in the real world. Really and truly how would you feel, if you had a 13 year old son who got a private message like that from a paintball forum? Makes us all look really good doesn't it?
