Didn't they recently get fined for losing 40,000 parcels a day?

£18m or something. One paper set up aninterview for an ex-con who had just been released for robbing a post office. Apparently Royal Mail gave him the job.

If its worth more than £27 send it insured with a signature needed. Of course that doesn't help if some Pikey in the post office steals it.

In defence of RM, I send anything from 100-200 parcels and receive 30-80 a week, and my loss rate is about 0.05%, normally around Christmas/New Year period.

1st Class recorded or Special Delivery for high-value items is, in my experience, a good Value-for-money service. Have you tried contacting Customer services to report the problem?

im sorry, but first class isnt gaurenteed next day. it gets there when it gets there, the only garenteed post is special delivery which is either 9am or 1pm next day.

also, i never send anything first class, ever, thats just asking for things to be stolen or 'lost' because its not tracked, if its important, it goes recorded, if its expensive its special. and ive never ever had anything go missing. i must say i mostly use special cause its always next day. if something is heavy, i dont use royal mail standard parcels. ill use DHL, mucho cheaper.
