Rotor Rain Lid

Trolling through Hustle Paintball's Youtube channel and came across a video showing you how to modify your spare Rotor lid in to a rain cover if you use a speed/quick feed. So I thought I'd give it a try with a spare lid!

Surely this defeats the purpose of a speedfeed though?

Just something easy to clip on and off if the inevitable British weather strikes. It's easier tha changing from your speed feed to your normal lid.

Thing is the Rotor is bullet proof - you can stick in a bucket of water and it will still work, therefore no rain cover is required.

With this method it damages a perfectly good lid - I also used a pringles lid as a cover but never really needed to worry !!.

It's more to do with preventing soggy balls than protecting your Rotor

If you are getting soggy balls then your trigger fingers are not working fast enough !!

If you're playing in the woods you are not necessarily always ripping through paint. Wet paint is never fun, swells, dimples and shoots all over the place. It's not so much of an issue on the supair field though.

Guys fairly new to the sport, play woodsball mainly. I was going to ask if its worth putting a rain cover over the hopper speed feed during wet weather to protect the paint more than the hopper itself.

Does the paint get that wet? if the paint isnt getting wet as its not sat there long enough for any effect does it mean taking the rotor apart after every game and drying it out before placing new paint back into it?

What about any paint thats left in the rotor between games, does this become ruined because the rain got into the rotor?

Yes the paint will get quite wet and even the slightest bit of moisture can cause the balls to swell, become weakened and generally f**k up your day and your marker. (unless its a Tippmann, you can never break one of those)

And that is why I love my Sierra one. It loves rainy days! Perfect for raining death on players in the woods
