Rotor jamming, any ideas?

Hi all, having used my rotor for nearly a year without any trouble at all, I encountered some persistent jamming from the 2nd half of today's tourney which a thourough clean of all gears/carousels, etc and a set of fresh batteries didn't seem to effect at all. Can anyone suggest a way to prevent this from happening? Much obliged

Hi

The Rotor as with all loaders loves to be clean, grit, twigs, etc inside there does not help things out but you say you cleaned it so we shall rule that out

Fresh batteries, check

What generation is your rotor arm, ie the red sweeper part. The current one is gen3 and can solve jamming issues. If you continue to jam call Dye and see if they can provide you with the latest part.

The only thing I have noticed is that if you paint is not the best I have had issues. Very simple solution was to use better paint.

Have you played about with the two adjustments on the rear of the battery pack or bent the switch?

Thanks for the reply, I have the original ganster arm (and no battery restraints if that indicates gen). I haven't played around with the tension screw at the back much, but am tempted to dial it in a bit to see if that makes a difference (I think I backed it out a turn when I first got it). The switch I think I'll leave unless everything else fails. I want that new arm anyway so I don't have to turn it upsidedown to use the antijam lever effectively

What paint were you useing? I have seen rotors be picking on the paint they feed.

We were shooting the dark sports stuff from lips, which had been great all day. I've shot some horribly dimpled stuff through that loader with no issues so it'd surprise me, but I'll try some other stuff next time to rule it out.

This sounds like the same issue i had. In my case all i had to do was file out a small lip that had formed in the feedtube.

A slighty mishaped ball would cause a jam and the "anti jam" leaver on the bottom of the rotor wouldn't work.

This was the advice i got from a guy at Dye and worked for me.

I have used that stuff with my rotor with no issues. The rotors i have seen jam were useing rps premium.

With no velcro straps on the batteries that would seem that you have a gen1 rotor. All that has changed is you get velcro straps and the latest sweeper gear with the fin.

Give Dye a ring and say you are having jamming issues.

Like mentioned above the only thing I have noticed that does cause jams is poor quality paint and overfilling the loader and forcing the lid shut !
