Have just spent half an hour on the phone with Pete in Miami and this is what he had to say:

"After the game I wanted to speak to the head judge, so I asked a ref if I could go on the field. The ref said yes so I entered the field and walked toward the head judge. As I walked past the Rage deadbox they began screaming at me, telling me to fuhk myself and so on. I responded verbally and spat on the floor, at which point one Rage player left the deadbox and ran toward me. I defended myself by grabbing hold of him to stop him hitting me and I had to head-butt him to keep him away, at which point four other Rage players came out, surrounded me and basically started punching and kicking me as I held on to the guy who first went to attack me. This lasted I suppose between 30 seconds and a minute before the refs pulled the Rage players off me.
Those 5 guys couldn't even put me down on my ass which just about says it all as far as I'm concerned; I offered to meet them one at a time after the event had finished but not one of them accepted my invitation, surprise surprise :/

"I regret the incident and with hindsight I probably shouldn't have gone on the field; however, I did ask permission from a ref before I entered the playing area. I fully accepted the punishment given to me by the NPPL and as far as I'm concerned the matter is finished.

"Fortunately for me, the entire incident was videotaped, so anyone who believes internet reports about me starting the fight, going into the Rage deadbox, or any of the other rubbish that's been posted on various websites, need only look at the video. n addition to this, reports of me having any broken bones or serious injuries are similarly false - I'm absolutely fine."

Just shows what a load of crap you get talked on the old paintball rumour mill. Anyone who knows Pete - knows how much he loves the game - and even if he does wear his heart on his sleeve sometimes:rolleyes: O.K - most of the time !! He would'nt go starting a fight in the middle of a game - no matter what the circumstances.

He has done more in the past season for U.K ball than anyone - i for one have total respect for him and the Nexus boys - who have nothing but time for you when you chat with them.

Anyone know if the video is on the net yet ??

I agree with your general sentiment Richard and I don't mean to sound prudish but isn't that last sentence kind of like
asking to watch a real life car crash? Just seems a bit poor taste to me??

So...

Pete still should never have been on the field.

But I give him props for copping to that error.

And if Pete's relayed version of events is correct, Rage still got off way too easy.

Why would Pete change his report in some way? The whole thing is on video.

Also why say Pete should never have been on the field. We know that he has even said that himself! And like it says he asked a ref and the ref said yes so the ref is also to blame.

Why do you do things like this?
