Hi, my A5 has seen a few games so far and im happy with my opsgear 10" fluted barrel, but does anyone know if Rifled barrels are any better than smooth bore barrels, and worth switching too as ive seen a few debates over them but no real answer.
Cheers

Rifling has never been proven to increase accuracy, and it has on several occasions been proven to reduce accuracy. I would avoid it if i were you. Accuracy (assuming a clean and polished barrel surface) is affected mainly by bore to paint match (underbore is most accurate, then overbore, blow test is worst [cockerpunk, 2009]) and the consistency of whatever you're regulating your air with.

Consistency of paint/ consistency of regulator > bore matching

and rifling as one.man.band has said has never been proven to improve accuracy, contrary to what smartparts used to say ;)

Yea I imagine trying to put a spin on a sphere full of liquid is only going to send it in some crazy spirals.
Not necessarily, I had a rifled barrel for years when I first started, and thought it was great. I have since used normal tubes, and also think they work great.

Dont think it actually did anything! :p

Empire make/made a barrel called the Twister which was rifled, a few of my team had them and used them, cant say it made a massive change over smooth tubes.
