I recently acquired an sft shocker body however is in a fairly poor condition. It has started pitting across the whole of the body (mostly only very very small pits that can be removed with a bit of elbow grease and some wet and dry paper) There are however some larger areas of either pitting or where bad scratches have become worse, these wouldn't come out without a serious amount of material being removed, which realistically would be stupid to do.
I guess the obvious answer to prevent further pitting would be to get it anno'd, and I presume the most sensible thing to do would be to wet and dry it to remove the small pits that cover the entire body before sending it to be anno'd
However... I can't seem to find a way to remove the body set screws, they seem to have been rounded off. So I guess the question there is how much damage would be caused by sending it to be anno'd with the set screws still in place, would anywhere even accept it with them still in the body? Any suggestions on how I would remove the set screws? I'm not bothered about destroying them, spares can still be found.
Is my only other option to wet and dry it, polish it best I can and then just keep polishing it to prevent the same happening again. Which is more effort than I really want to be honest, but at the same time, I'd rather not waste the body, it would be good to be able to salvage it.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
