I am looking into opening a paintball store in a popular Central London shopping location and have some questions I would like to ask UK paintballers. If you could spare the time and answer several questions it would be a great help.

1. Age :
2. Location :
3. What type of paintball player are you, i.e tournament or scenario?
4. What is your annual expenditure on paintball products?
5. Where would you prefer to purchase paintball products – online, tournament trade stands or in a shop?
6. What proportion of your purchases do you make from;
a) paintball shops
b) online
c) tournament trade stands?

7. How far would you be willing to travel to a paintball shop?
8. Would you rather travel into Central London or to locations of current stores, eg Planet Eclipse, Smart Parts (industrial estates etc) to purchase paintball products? Why?
9. If you have visited paintball shops, what do you like/dislike about them?

Thanks for your time

Sam.

Here are my answers:

1. 24
2. London
3. Tournament
4. £1100
5. In a shop
6. a) None
b) 75%
c) 25%
7. Anywhere covered by tube as I don’t have private transportation. Have travelled to Manchester (by train) to Planet Eclipse to see products before buying them.
8. Central London – easier access by public transport / other attractions
9. Like – being able to see and feel guns, try on clothes, going with friends and being able to discuss the products, talking to other people with interest in paintball – shop assistants and other customers.

Dislike – locations, difficult to get to, limited choice, poor customer service, uninspired shop set up.
