Replacing gauge..

Quick Q:

I want to replace the gauge on my crossfire reg cos it's too big.

Am i right in thinking i can just take the old one off, then pop on a mini one with roughly the same amount of threads showing?

Will 243 threadlocker be sufficient?

Did start out doing that, but either no-one got it, or they all thought it was too sad, which is much more likely.

Real name is alex, but just happen to be a (slightly crap) medic, hence the handle/avatar...
