Right, so recently I bought myself a mini with a red upped feedneck (inclusive of the other one) and the plan was to get rid of the red one and put the silver one back on.

Unfortunately, whoever put the red one on (red on dust silver, I ask you why!) seems to have lock-tighted or glued it on or something.

Absolutely nothing we've tried so far will work (lube, wd-40, ect) and I was just wondering if there's anything I could have missed that might work or how people got passed something like this themselves, it's driving me crazy

Jonny want's to drill through the feedneck and lever it off, will this ruin the feedneck? It appears I may have no other options!

Thanks for any advice. :D

take the coller of then asume it had gaps around the feedneck

then use a kitchen knife (ie one thats not sharp)

like a lever then just twist it around

Use a hairdryer on the feed neck to melt the locktite before using Games technique and it should come off.

Now if its glued thats a differant story.

You need to be very careful with that, whilst on guns with a relative coarse/deep thread it's ok (e.g. Cockers, Alias timmys), you could inadvertently strip or damage finer threads (Ion, Angel etc) especially if loctite has been used on the threads.

Try a hair dryer on the feedneck to warm the loctite up first if you want to use the 'butter knife' method.

put the gun on to a table with the feedneck hanging over the edge. then get a massive hammer and hit it really hard. that should do the trick :D

If it's glued on, wrap it in a few layers of duct tape, stick it in a vice and wrench it out. You could also get yourself a strap wrench which wouldn't scar it up....

A strap wrench used with a hot air gun(including the type used for smt rework) wil have it right off there, even if it has been glued on.
