Removal of paint stains (old)

Just got a rather rare pro jersey in and its got a few old paint stains that I want rid of if possible, any one got any decent tips on the best way to remove these? I have bought some bog standard stain remover but I am in no rush to use it untill I can be sure it wont knacker the jersey .

if your wanting rid of the jersey i wil buy it from you mit stain? have been looking for somthing like this to hang on the wall.

if not and just want stain removed will dig up some tips for you that we used to use on vintage/original wartime uniforms and equiment.

Absolutely definatley not for sale

Would appreciate some tips on stain removal though please. I want this restored back to perfect condition if I can.
