I bought a new tray for my reloader, but having taken it all apart and put it back together it isn't working...the drive cone won't spin when you turn the ripdrive or the motor is turned on

but the ripdrive will turn, and the cogs are all in correctly- it must be the drivecone- I used the instructions but the spring doesn't seem to be catching on the drive cone when you turn it- I don't think it's broken or anything, the tab which the spring is meant to catch on it still there, but itjust doesnt seem to be doing it

is there some kind of special technique or wha?

are there any tech diagrams of how to put the drive cone back on correctly, or can anyone describe how to do it?

thankyoooou :)

The spring can be tricky to put back in because you've got to get it tensioned between the tray and the drive cone - and it's not like you can just stick your fingers in there, because it's obviously covered up.

There's two arms on the spring. Sit it over the centre axis of the tray and rotate it until the bottom arm hits the bottom tab. Now you need to carefully put the drivecone over the spring so that the tab on the drivecone sits on the opposite side of the top arm.

I hope I'm not too confusing.

Once here, you need to rotate the drivecone so that the top spring arm is pulled back over the bottom spring arm (and over the tab it is braced against). When it's passed, you can drop the drive cone in place and put the screw back in the top. The spring should be tight between the tray and the cone, and when you twist the cone it'll snap back into place. Hopefully.

It's tricky but not impossible. And if this doesn't fix your problems, I haven't got a clue :)

i oftern find that when reassembling these damn things that lots of swearing helps!

took 3 appart to clean them at the same time.......managed to get 2 of them back together....close enough for me!

the instructions on odysees website are pritty good tho, plenty of pics

First off check that it turns on. If the light flashes then the problem lies with the connection to the motor or the connection to the drive cone (as mentioned).

If the light does not come on then look to just turn the connection to the board over.

nope it's definately how I've reassembled the parts as the drive cone just will not connect to the spring- nothing to do with the board

I'm at college at the mo so I'll try it when I get home ;)

Ok well it sort of works now, but it is not quite right

it works as normal ie it spins around with the motor now, but I think that's only because the drivecone is screwed to the ripdrive

-the spring just spins about in the middle and I can't get the drivecone to tension on the spring- I can spin it round and round, but then when I loose it just spins all the way back round

it seems to work, it's just how I've put the spring back on in particular I think?
