to decrease the pressure to about 50 fps on the ion reg

i know all the counter clockwise stuff but i dont wana get it wrong ;p

so do i screw the reg in or out

if you need a visual image, when you screw the fps adjuster it either goes in the way (the black hexagon moves inside the reg) or out the way (moves further down outside the reg)

which way to decrease pressure (trying to find a leak and dont wana air it up with no shell at 140psi)

manual says turn anti clockwise when reg is facing up and the sky is blue while the sea is at low tide

turning anti clockwise makes the screw go "in" and to me that would decrease the volume and increase the pressure...

what revolt said is correct I had to adjust someones ION the other day and this is what you need to do.

counter clockwise = regulator piston moves into the body = pressure down

hope this helps confirm

ok thanks for confirming, could anyone explain the mechanics of it to me though

surely moving the piston IN makes the chamber smaller and therefore increases pressure?

A reg is just a spring loaded valve that closes once the output pressure reaches a certain amount.

Turning the adjuster alters the spring pressure which alters the pressure that the valve closes at. Resulting in more or less pressure inside the marker.
