Yeah I would take it to someone who knows what their doing. Try Tom Allen. If you do it too loose it wud leak and if you do it to tight it can blow up.

Air system regulators are usually pretty easy to remove, but the PMI ones happen to be sort of difficult. I use a wooden foot on a bench vice to seize the reg body, and my mighty hands to turn the tank. I like the Crossfire regs better, in part because of teh hex faces that make them easy to remove.

HPS regs have an oring at the top of the threads. I always twist them hand tight, then use whatever tool recommends itself for the regulator in question to turn it just a bit more. The combination of pressure on the threads and torque applied will keep it from turning out, but if you do somehow detach the reg from the bottle, a vent in the regulator on the threaded stem will exhaust the air loudly and quickly, so you won't make your bottle into a missile.

Make sure the tank is completely empty before you remove the reg. It will be easier and quieter, and will prevent you from having to change pants.

yeh bud ive changed lots of regs it sthe same principal as using A.I.R and maxflo's if its too loose youll hear it and you should know if your forcing it too tight - as suggested- Hand tight and a bit:)
