The regulator controls the flow of gas into your marker. It will give (in theory) a constant set pressure i.e 600psi.

It is usefull when using CO2 as this gas tends to fluctuate in pressure as it is being used and can give big spikes i.e goes from firing at 290fps to 310fps and going over the 300 limit. The reg will keep the fps constant (ish, some regs are better than others)

As for the Kingman Reg check out the forums at www.kingmanusa.com as I have never used one therefore I can't give an opinion!!

I'm afraid I am only an amateur marker breaker/fixer so hopefully some else with vast knowledge will be able to help!!!

When you say "wouldn't re-cock" do you mean the cocking rod wouldn't move at all? Or it just occasionally failed to re-cock to which you just re-cocked and carried on playing?

A few things that should be asked.

Was the bottle full?
Was the marker cocked before you started?
Was the bottle valve on all the way (on/off valve)?
Was the bottle screwed on all the way (pin vavle)?
Was the bolt clean and lubricated?

If the answer is yes to all the above, then im stumped.
I recomend stripping the marker, cleaning it thourghly, lubricating the bolt and hammer, then reassembling it.
Then try again with a full bottle.

and my answer is yes to all of em, but thx for the help. I wish i could upgrade to air but the place i goto only does Co2... :(

ill just have to keep my bottle warm :D

are you using an expasion chamber?

i think diagnosis of bolt stick due to freezing is correct i used to get it with my standard mag running on co2 i ended up using a remote pack and only half filling my bottle along with an expansion chamber. (im the king of over kill) only happened in the winter when the ambient temp was low.
