Reg Question

Right well I got an 4500 PSI 1.5L air tank with preset reg in it.

Baisicly the other day when I was showing my m8 the Ion I screwed it in a bit further than normal, and when I went to unscrew it (by the bottle) the reg started to unscrew formt he bottle instead of the reg from the marker.

Luckily it only has 50PSI if that in it and i screwed it back in fine, alough a bit shocked.

Baisicly, my Pb park says they will Put some Lock tight or summit on it to stop it form unscrewing again, but they might not be able to do it on Sat so ill do it myself if I knew how.

Any info on this?

empty the bottle firsts by dry firing the air out.

then you need some of the blue loctite-number 243, in a dark red tube (anyone correct me if i'm wrong that's off the top of me head though i'm pretty ssure)

put plenty of it on the part of the reg which screws into the bottle and then simply screw it in as tight as you can (maybe with the aid of a vice)

then leave it for a bit and it should be fine

Yea, got that sorted baisicly now. Aparently it shouldnt need Locktite, and i jsut need to screw it in with enough torque so it cant be unscrewed by hand

When its under pressure it won't unscrew. don't loctite it because it may then fail its next HP test.

Dont loctite it...should be an o-ring at teh end of teh thread on teh reg, nearest teh reg.
Its just a matter of procedure..like "dont shake NitroGlycerene", just unscrew by holding teh reg, not teh bottle, or..like you did, pay attention when your doing it..and nothing nasty will happen.

And just for the record if you do use loctite don't 'put plenty on' as this can block the safetyy vent hole and cause serious flying cylinder to brain issues.
