Hi, I have found a good deal on a Safer 1.2l Composite Air Tank, what regulator would be best to go for with an Ego 10 and would I have to get it fitted by an approved specialist or can I do it myself? Cheers

If I were you get a ninja pro v2 reg from lips if you can afford it and shim it too 550 psi output pressure, it is something you can do yourself just remember the safer bottles come slightly pressurised and that's something you will have to remember with the safer bottles to never completely empty them once you've fitted the reg. hope this helps

That does help, thank you. How would I go about fitting a reg for the first time on this bottle. Is there a guide I could follow or something? I have heard that you might need to loctite it in? Is that correct? Cheers

has it had the reg off it for a while? if its one with a ploymer liner i believe they need to be kept pressureised, so if theres no reg on it and its not new i would be a little concerned

Had mine from new (empty) and had a reg fitted on it (ninja pro). I then had to lightly fill it in accordance with the supplied instructions (very low PSI for first fill) to allow the bladder to expand and for the air trapped between the bladder and outer shell to escape. After waiting (cant quite remember how long the instructions said to wait as I am currently at work and don't have the paperwork) I was able to fill it to full pressure without issue. It can be completely drained but then the same precautions need to be applied when filling for the first time. This can be avoided if some pressure is kept in the bottle to keep the bladder inflated which is why it is recommended to never fully empty it. The regulator was subsequently switched to a pure energy reg without issue (the reason for the switch was selling the bottle but keeping the Ninja reg for my son's bottle).

Yeah Gaz is correct in what he has said. With the tank you will get a passport/manual which will have all the details for its first fill (make sure to keep it!) and will come pressurized with a bike pump style reg on for transport without a reg attached so you can always keep a little bit of pressure in it. You do not need to locktite it on just hand torque, for a reg I would agree with @marzocchi1988 get a Ninja pro v1 or v2 if its within budget :)

Text in Yellow covers filling from empty which is what you will need to do when you fit the reg :)
