Reffs on fields

(Dear Frenchies, please don't take it the wrong way!)

In Amsterdam we made it into the Sunday club.
We had to face two French teams. Unlucky for us we had to play them on a field with French Marshals. You may guess how it ended.

Would it not be better to stop stuff like this and avoid to have one Nation reffing one field, or one team?!

We got split up last Campaign Cup and had to "support" the French Marshals on the Thomokawk field. Most teams we really pleased to see that there was a mix of Marshals and that the level of reffing stepped up.

So the question is:

MIX THE REFFS
or
DON'T BOTHER

I'm curious about which field you're talking about? Are you sure you aren't talking about a field closer to Warmoesstraat just outside some Smart Shop? Because there was no field that had only French refs. In fact there was no field that had a majority of French refs. Not even one with a lot of French refs. There were two teams at DMA that reffed for series points (one from England) and they were divided out among the 38 - 40 paid referees so that there were never more than three "team refs" on any field at any time. There was however one head field ref who happens to be from France and he refs the Millennium field (main finals field) at every event.

So when you're looking for someone to blame for your poor performance or bad luck, whichever it might be, at least get you're facts straight and don't lean on your anti-amphibian prejudices.:)

Yawn....and did I mention YAWN! Have you been there when we played...erm NO!

And I guess reading is not one of your strong points either...here a link for you:LEARN HOW TO READ

Anyway...it is my opinion and if you don't share it...so be it. Nice for you to judge our preformance on the field. Find someone who cares about it!

Menace actually had two games in Germany against french teams, that were overturned by french judges. Jags France and Evil Pigs, which took menace to the finals.

Both decisions could have been over-looked by the french but they chose to go Menaces way.

I fail to see what I read wrong? What I do see is you're inability to read nationalities although I doubt it would really matter in this case 'cause you're obviously just looking for a scapegoat.

So why don't you answer the question? What field was your game on? Maybe I wasn't there when they recruited five or six French more refs but I was at the tournament and I am in command of the facts which you obviously are not.

Name the field and I'll give you a national breakdown of the refs. I'm willing to bet £5 against your £1 that there were never more than 3 French field refs at any time on any field. More than likely even fewer.

BTW there was a French team reffing at DMA but they were split up. The ones I saw did an excellent job.

So put up or STFU.

Until there's an international association of refs for paintball, you will hear this argument repeated (legitimately or not, and let that not be taken with any offense by any parties involved in this complaint) at just about every tournament with teams from other countries. Unfortuneatly, the kind of money it would take to train such refs, let alone pay them for their services, is a bit out of paintball's league right now. Personally, I think we may as well do away with refs altogether. Nobody trusts their judgement, they are constantly accused of bias, and they're really running out of rules to enforce, since paintball is leaning the direction of eliminating as many of the current rules as possible and letting all the cheaters fight it out for themselves.

I agree.

It is EXTREMELY important that the refs are on the field. The quality of reffing decreases considerably when the refs are not on the field, especially if they are at the pub.
