I'm a total newb to this level of paintballing that you guys and gals seem to play at. But I have played quite a few times at paintballing with mates and really wnjoy it. But the only problem is the guns that these places supply seem to be very erratic, jamming or not firing properly and definatly not accorate compared to people with their own guns.

Now I want to go out and buy second hand or new a marker that is reliably and good. But with so many guns out there I don't know what to get.

Now I want to spend upto about £120 for a marker, I know not much but I am new to it, and I am just wondering on your recommendations what do you think I should go for?

For £120 I would highly recommend looking into a 2nd hand Smart Parts Ion. The Ion will treat you well, and is a great gun for all styles of play, whether you're into woodsball or want to make the leap into tournament/sup'air paintball. It's relatively simple to maintain and look after as long as you read the manual etc, and there are plenty of guys on here that can help you out if you need it.

Firstly Safety!!! Get a good mask preferably thermal...

Your marker of choice.
Cheap markers like Spyders or their clones (JT, Icons or similar) are easy to maintain and do the job just fine £50+ new or second hand.

For around £80 you could land yourself a several year old high end marker like an Angel (LED, LCD, IR3), or DM3, DM3 lcd.

Then you will need a CO2 or Air tank and a reasonable hopper.

A good mask second hand £10-£30, new £15-£60

CO2 anything from £10-£20 but better to go for air around £50+ with a good test.

Reasonable second hand electric hopper, £15-£30, new £30-£70.

If your just having a few games here and there occasionally go for the Spyders with a cheap second hand mask, hopper and air.

Good tip....Go for air NOT CO2 as you will have less problems with your gun.
Also use an electric hopper as this will save chopped paint, and
better reliabilty.

My Cheapy Spyder Victor has only had one strip down after 4 days out and 8000 balls through it and only had a few break trying to put 15 balls a second through it once.

Cheap Mask £10
Cheap marker £50
Cheap loader £15
Cheap Air £50

P.S. this isn't a sale I'm offering, just advise on equipment....

Bit over budget but close enough for starters...Nobby:D
