Hi all,

Weird question, but can reballs damage a gun (high-end electro, like an ego, dm or similar)? I know it says they wont on the blurb for the product, but I know people use different barrels when shooting reball so as not to mess up their good ones, and I figured that when you're in a situation to chop a ball (ball halfway between the feedneck and the breech, bolt coming forward) surely the bolt would stop, as opposed to normal where it would just cut the paintball and continue? I know with decent eyes bla bla you should never have that situation any more, but is there a danger of damage to your gun in this case?

No matey the bolt will bounce off the ball as opposed to cutting it in half (remember its air thats propelling the bolt/rammer)older angels used to boast about the bolt bouncing off a half fed paintball rather than chopping it ..barrels are different but I wouldn't worry..

Most of our players when using reball will use another barrel. Some times the reball's can leave some very small marks in the barrel. So we have one barrel for reball and one for everything else.

We have been using reball for over a year. in the winter months (2006) every weekend(9 till 9) and in 2007 still once a month(9 till 7). Making way for on-field training the rest of the weekends.

Never had a problem with the bolts, or eyes etc. We have used last year, (Ego's, dm's, pm's, shockers, ions). This year just PM7's, and they have been great.

Only problems are sometimes with hoppers. jaming-up etc. Also if you use a DM/PM check out the tech thread for detent's with reball.

Spoke to Jamie in the Dye tent and he said that there working on an AL insert for the DM7 to replace the plastic one for reballing dye to damage and scuffing over long periods of time.

Its is best to get a reball barrel to save the finish for your real paint ones. What marker are you using with them?
