Really why Diablo became Draxxus

RKL

Fauvist
Fashion.

Image you’re a senior Diablo Rep or Distributor. What have you been wearing for the last few years? That Black and Red Melton jacket.

Meanwhile, every player in the world has been changing his or her jersey every 2 months. You, Mr / Ms Diablo, are feeling left out in the paintball fashion parade.

Enough of you bitch to Richmond, himself a style-conscious Montrealler, and voila, a new name.

New name = New clothes.

but it did sound good :)

And Diablo are now in bed with National (owner of original Diablo name) which means that they will be even bigger than they were before.

Robbo - i thought National were Zap (or PMI - can't remember) do you know what the score is with that?

Gino Postorivo, owner of Natoinal Paintball Supplies has for years been affiliated with Acucaps, the makers of Zap who make Proball for NPS.
PMI, on the the other hand, is owned by Jeff Perlmutter and RP have traditionally supplied them.

Gino and Richmond are now 'co-operating' with the company Diablo Direct which deals with the distribution of paint made by Richmond's company, Procaps, makers of Draxxuus, imperial, Diablo whatever.

Basically, I think Gino needed to secure distribution and supply of paint for the future of his company's customers.

That's about it !!!

Hang on!
Richmond ITALIA...Gino POSTORIVO...That all sounds awfully Italian. I bet it's a mob thing. Don't mess with the family and all that.

Seriously, I know some of the story (due to ties with distributors and all), and what Robbo says is true. Also it involves lawsuits.
C'mon, the stupidest thing Diablo could do is change the company name. It is at the moment probably the best known brand name in paintball. It would be like Nike changing it's name to something else. At one time though it seemed that Diablo didn't have a choice (the lawsuit thing), but all turned out well after all.

Another of my attempts at humour goes sadly awry. I guess it's like they say "It's not the joke, it's how you tell them". Or is that write them?
Oh come on RKL, it's an occupational hazard writing stuff with a 'tongue in cheek' on these boards.

One man's joke is another man's 'put down'.
One man's irony is another man's cyniscism.
One man's ambiguity is another man's definition.

U get my point I hope because I have on many occasion fallen foul of all of these at one time or another....it's life....it's paintball.....it's frustrating :)

But I tell you what RKL, misinterpretations or not, it don't half lead to some good threads :)
